Meeting the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF)

Obtaining Associate Fellow, Fellow, Senior Fellow or Principal Fellow status provides a transferable, nationally recognised kitemark for teachers, learning support and senior academic staff. It provides evidence that you value teaching and are committed to improving the student learning experience and it shows that you believe in a professional and scholarly approach to this aspect of your job and that you want to keep standards of practice where they belong – in the hands of the profession. Moreover it demonstrates that your practice is aligned with the UKPSF and it provides an indicator of professional identity for higher education practitioners, including the entitlement to use post-nominal letters. The UKPSF provides a general description of the main dimensions of the roles of teaching and supporting learning within HE.

The workshop provides a very practical, step-by-step guide to completing the documentation required by the HE Academy or by your accredited institutional scheme for obtaining professional recognition. During the session you will be given the opportunity to outline some of the key elements of your application.
