Designing inquiry-based learning activities

This interactive workshop aims to explore practical ways of incorporating inquiry based learning (IBL) into a course and discusses the issues staff and students face in this mode of learning. It acts as an excellent action planning follow up to the ‘Engaging students in research and inquiry’ workshop. Participants will leave this workshop with practical ways in which they can incorporate inquiry learning in to their course regardless of discipline or class size.

“Mick Healey’s inspirational sessions have allowed us to rethink our understanding to Enquiry Based Learning and concepts such as active learning, building on our existing ideas with extremely valuable supporting case studies and a wealth of supporting material. Mick’s first whole day input to Initial Teacher Education at York St John was so well received, in fact, that he was requested back as soon as was practically possible and we would be delighted to have him work with our staff again.”
